Two studies testing dark chocolate or cocoa found significant improvement in overall function of the endothelium in healthy volunteers. Another study investigated revealed that dark chocolate can help to maintain normal blood pressure levels already within normal range. Additionally, studies of cocoa polyphenols show that they can maintain already healthy HDL, blood pressure, insulin sensitivity and blood glucose levels in those already within normal ranges.
