As a natural bacteria fighter, alkylglycerols are able to support the helper T-cells, which are highly sensitized to the bacteria-infected macrophage, and thus the body is able to regulate the bacteria. (For immune system stimulation, one or two softgels daily is sufficient for most individuals.)* As an antifungal, alkylglycerols are beneficial because they are known to increase the production of certain cytokines. (The daily dose of five 1000-mg Shark Liver Oil softgels, containing 200 mg of alkylglycerol each, taken for up to 30 days, has been shown to be a powerful antifungal.)* Life Extension's Norwegian Shark Liver Oil is processed from the livers of sharks found in the waters off the coast of Norway. Each softgel is standardized to provide 200 mg of alkylglycerols.
